“In my paintings, I examine the interrelationships between my bicultural identity and how growing up my family’s traditional Andean cuisine restaurant facilitated cultural continuity in my community. I want to create space for my community to see ourselves, reconnect to our ancestors, and uplift ancient practices and knowledge.”
